The setting of 48 by Freight is in the summer of 1932, East Vandergrift, PA. 1932 was defined by the Great Depression. FDR was elected President by a landslide, defeating Herbert Hoover. National Prohibition lasted from 1920-1933. Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic; Radio City Music Hall opens “on a high kick” in New York City and Los Angeles (Summer) and Lake Placid (Winter) host the Olympics.
Our story beings in an old garage in Morning Sun, Pennsylvania. Zig and Kelly are playing poker when their friend Stash enters…and then the challenge and quest begins…
